Dave Greway's Amazing Clocks
Join us this Friday July 6th from 6pm-9pm to see Dave Greway's clock art installation at Alter Ego.
"An idea hits me often when I least expect it. I quickly sketch the idea on whatever is laying around. I take my doodle to second hand stores, thrift shops, and yard sales where I look for various objects and materials that I can use to create my piece." Says the Artist
Greway Adds "While I am wandering through second hand shops, an idea can be sparked by finding forgotten and often broken objects. The design of the piece evolves from the found objects. Each idea will often change as the piece is constructed."
Greway will have several pieces for sale the entire month of July.
First Friday, presented by the Downtown Raleigh Alliance, showcases the vibrant art and creative community in downtown Raleigh on the first Friday of every month from 6-9 pm. The free public event features a variety of local art galleries and studios, museums and exhibitors that stay open late, put on special events and often offer refreshments. Retailers and restaurants participate by showcasing art, music or offering a First Friday special. First Friday is an annual fee-based membership program for downtown Raleigh storefront art galleries and businesses.
