Alter Ego is happy to showcase the work of Reba Martin. She is a self taught visual artist. She is based out of North Carolina. Her pieces and mediums of choice vary, but she works heavily in acrylic.
Reba says of her art " [This collection] is a journey through the past three years. It's a combination of pieces I've done in different mediums: acrylic, watercolor, and photography. My symmetrical photography is created by finding nice linework in the branches, and multiplying them to create a pattern. I replicate Earth's beautiful creatures in paint. The two styles are very different, but come together through nature. "
Join us from 6pm-9pm the First Friday of every month to view the artwork and chat with the artist. Her work will be featured and available for purchase until the end of October.
First Friday, presented by the Downtown Raleigh Alliance, showcases the vibrant art and creative community in downtown Raleigh on the first Friday of every month from 6-9 pm. The free public event features a variety of local art galleries and studios, museums and exhibitors that stay open late, put on special events and often offer refreshments. Retailers and restaurants participate by showcasing art, music or offering a First Friday special.
